Multi-camera Production Evaluation proof read

Section 1- The brief

For this unit, I had been asked by E4 to; plan, research and organised a Music based, Magazine program for an audience for fourteen to twenty year old British teenagers using a Multi-camera production. The show was to be fifteen minutes of content filmed on the day and the other fifteen minutes was going to be for adverts, music videos etc.

There was lots of different, difficult tasks me and the crew had to overcome, such as choosing a name for the show, We had to choose different games that were fun to play, which out of our five music videos, we would since we could only use three of the music videos, who would get what job roles, what logo we would use, what camera would face where and what the shot type/angle it would be and the different clips/ graphic we would use on the show.

The chosen logo for the show
One of the things that I thought was a really big thing we had to discus about was the title of the show, there was a lot of really good names like 'tweet that,' which was my idea, Vibe which was Prinul's idea, And that's a rap which was Jasmeet's idea and Tempo which was Kaval's idea.We ended up choosing none of these ideas, and choosing the name 'The Beat'. which was Jada's idea. The logo for the show is on the right. I also think that the show's games which were guess the nose and the lyrics game made the show even better to show to everyone as both games were  interesting to watch and having the host ad libbing there own jokes even made the crew laugh a bit.

In my opinion I think that the final production of the beat met the brief by almost coping the scenario as the show uses aspects of a teenager's life, this is done by the show having music videos which a lot of teenagers watch and having tweets being read out as a lot of teenagers have Twitter and being read out on TV is a big thing for them. Also I think that having the stage set up so the each camera has its own main position was really a really good idea, Below I have included an image of the set up from the show
Set up

I think that the crew was kind of bad during pre-production as some of the effects/ clips needed had not been working properly or even done before the last couple of days before filming the show but over all it was done well and it looked nice and at production everything seemed to work well and everyone was working together as a unit.

Section 2 - Self Evaluation

Within the crew, I was the camera operator, which means I controlled where camera were to go and also controlled a camera during filming. The roles the camera operator has to do include being hard headed about shots/shot types, the ability to review the set plans and know where everything is going/is as to be able to get the best shot without having to waste space with head room and lastly to able able to read and understand the script so the camera came in the right place at the right time. I feel as I met most of the expectations for the job role, apart from the set plan one as when shooting the actual show, I had an accidental regarding the camera when the game 'Guess the nose game,' which was about 7:20 minutes of the first part of the show as there was no clear indication of what set of noses was being looked at and I had actually gotten lost when filming. The link to watch this scene will be here and a screenshot of it on the right.

That was the only accident that was in the production regarding me. Regarding the hard headed I actually chose all the shot types for the camera and understanding the script, the reason I think that I did actually well is because I actually read the script quite a lot so I feel like I knew it all and if I happened to forget anything, Jasmeet, the director was describing each shot to use via mic/headphones so if there were any changes, I could hear there and also with the 'Guess the nose' game, before we starting filming the show properly, we as a group decided to change the script so the cameras could see the game better which meant that we had to quickly remember the change. Apart from the game issue, I did not actually find any issues or difficulties with filming 'The Beat.' But there was one problem I noticed when watching over the show, is that the lighting does not look as good as I even thought it was going to be when filming, as looking over it now, the video does not look very clear and orange and kind of blurry but that might be because we did not use natural light.

  • I have gained more team work skills as working with a group of people who all have different ideas for a perfect show meant that we had to use a lot of different ideas in the show.
  • I have better camera skills as I spent all my time working with the camera which lead to me getting better when using it.
  • I have better communication skills because of this as I worked a lot better with the group and everyone seemed to get better at giving there own input towards the show.
  • I think that I have better script skills because of this project as now I know what it must be like to be a person who works with the camera scripts.
  • And lastly I think that I have better time management skills as I spent a lot of time working on different parts of the script and working the cameras to be perfect and sorting that out and still doing my normal everyday stuff as well.

On the right is my Job roles post which I used check which of the skill in the camera operator job.

Section 3 - Analysis of final production

For practical reasons, I think that the show's cameras mostly shot all the action apart from the guess the nose part, but the cameras stayed on the hosts, guest and/or both depending on what camera and most of the time the cameras were real at the right shot at the right time, this was done because if the viewers couldn't see everything on the screen, the show wouldn't be that good and no one would watch it. The studio had a limit which was that because it was mainly a classroom, everything had to be made to look like a studio and yet we could not use the whole area because of the time it would take to set that all up, would take the crew ages to make the look like a set, and because at points like the one on the right there was scenes where you could see the environment that was not meant to be seen like the piece of black tape on the floor.

The aesthetic reasons for are that the background is made to look really nice, by adding the awesome background. The background was cool and gave the show this idea that it was even cooler than it was, making viewer want to be part of the show as its cool. The way that communicates meaning to the viewer is by showing a new set of music videos, allowing them to get a different idea of what other music there is.

Multi-camera Production Evaluation - unproofed read

Section 1- The brief

In this section, we were asked to make a musc Tv show to be plaed on E4, the show was called the beat. The tasks we had do inclued choosing a name. Crating the games and chosing what parts everone had to do, like hosts, gest floor manger ect
i think that the final prodction of hte beat when well as it looked good and apart from a few thinks we all did oru jobs right at post production but in preproduction there was a lot of things that happening which the group had issues with like tasks not being completde and extar time beign taken out to shoot extra shot.. i belive that the show meet the breif by being funny but not too funny and havign a lot of jokes and not being stale with jokes.

Section 2 - Self Evaluation

My Jjob with teh beat was as the Camera operator, I had to make sure the camera didnt wabble ro was croocked and had to make sure to on time which i did tuype up on blogger a few weeks ago. i met theis expections by making sure the camera didnt wobble and it was sraight and I was early to the production i think that i also had set plans in my head so i was able to know what camera was shooting wht soo iwas able to be ready apart from one time.

An improvement i coul d have actually knowing the scripr inside and otu as at one point i msesed up and soht the wrong. I also didnt really carry out any tes befor filming the show as trhe re wasnt a lot of time to do tht with teh hosts and the guests and I didnt use a lot of different shots so if i could od the production again i would have moved the camera around a lot more.
I found that there was onyl one diffecaulty during prodcution which was be that there wasnt a lot of space to film beween the camera and the lights as they were rgiht enxt to teh camera. i think the skills i have got was the skills to remind a lot of the script.

Section 3:Analysis Of Final Production

Practical Reasons: the show was cretive because of the games we used, the vts and the show's humor

Aesthetic Reasons: the show was creatve becase of the the background, the games wall/twitter board and the graphics.

Production Meeting Reflection 4

This week I spent all my time working on the Master script, as I had write the Camera Instructions section which took longer than I though as I didn't know that there was actual 121 shots and i spent a long time choosing different shots and angles. The only problem is, that i couldn't find a lot of different shots and was stuck using close ups, mid shots ,wide shots and long shots. This week I would say everything was successful as everyone, to what I know finished their sections for the master script.I don't think I need to change anything on the as I am pretty sure everything is fine on my side, but I still need to finish off the work from before as it was not up to the best standard possible, Next will be the live day so i will spend a lot of time rehearsing with the crew like we will be doing on Tuesday for the whole day, we would be rehearsing on Wednesday but most of us will be away for the day so we had to change to Tuesday,I think i worked well with the crew this week, I was helped by prinul and Ellie as prinul is going to be using camera 2 when we film for real and Ellie is going to controlling what camera will be seen by the audience so she needed to  know what kind of shots the camera operator will use so she can match it.

Production Meeting Reflection 3

This week I created by myself a PowerPoint, that would show where I think each of the different cameras should be placed when filming the live day, what movement that camera would be doing like tracking or panning, the location and what would the camera be shooting if it was there, I think that this week went very well as everyone got their work done and I also was asked to be filmed by the VT operator for a fake interview. I think I should change my power point by adding more different shots and angles and different shot types as it all of them were long shots or close ups and I think I should use a variety of shot types. Next week I have been informed that all the crew members will be working on a master script together, and I have to decide on what camera and what type of shot will be used a that point, This week I think that I worked very well with my crew members this week as I helped the VT operator with an interview as we needed a few of them to make up a section which was called 'street beat' in which Jada, one of the hosts would talk to random members of the pubic, show them the video and get a response on the video and then the pubic would rate it on a scale from 1 to 10 on how good they thought it was, I thought this was a good thing for me to do as the camera operator as I could help the VT operator with different camera shots, but I still think that we did pretty well as a group.

Production Meeting Reflection 2

This week, I worked on making a list of 10 hazards that could happen during the filming of the show surrounding all three of the cameras and how I think they can be avoided or if not controlled and to go with that 10 pictures of each of the possible hazards. And lastly I sat down with Jasmeet the director, Prinul, the floor manager and Ellie and we went over where the camera are officially going to be and we decided that
There was no problems regarding my work as it was pretty easy and didn't take that long. This week as everyone seemed to be working pretty well together and there was no arguments between us which is really good and will keep us as a unit together.Hopefully there will be no arguments next week or the week after that. Next week I will be creating a PowerPoint which will show the different camera's shots/angles and where i think they should be on the live day and again to go with that 10 pictures of the shots using a camera. Also I will be working with the VT operator to create a couple scenes for the street beat in which Jada, one of the presenters would go out and talk to members of the public which will be portrayed myself,  Prabhjyot and Ellie, to ask them a few questions about a few music videos, this is to happen on Tuesday during the morning as to make sure no one would ruin the shots.

Production Meeting Reflection 1

In this production meeting, we went over why we though where each of our ideas were good and where they were not as good we did this by sitting around a table and discussing each of our ideas and giving a brief  feedback and vote who's idea we liked the most.

The group responded to my idea in what I thought was a good response, they said that they liked the name 'Tweet that,' which they said was different and appealed to a young audience that was stated in the brief.
They also said that they liked all my games as they were unique and extravagant particularly the guess the nose game which they said sounded fun.

Having read all the handouts for everyone's pitches, I decided that Jada's idea was the best as she had a detailed layout and running order and the title 'the beat,' was a strong idea. However I feel that some of her games were not as good as mine, as they were used a lot in other shows.

I think that Taylor's game which was called 'who am I' was good because it seemed like a good fit into a music based show as she stated that the faces would be of the artist.
I think that my ideas 'box office,' 'Random News,' and ' Da charts' should be incorporated in the final idea as this could a way of getting real life news into a viewer's head which is good for them, The box office and Da charts for anyone so they know what the top songs and movies.
Overall the meeting was productive.

Task 2b

Programme Format
I have chosen for my show to be topical, entertaining show, I chose topical because the show has a basic news broadcast which is random news and entertaining as can be considered a games show as well.
Title of the show
The title of the show will be called 'Tweet that!' the reason i chose to use that name is because the show will be highly based on the website twitter and the different tweets that people post.

Content Ideas

  • I have a few ideas for content, my first idea is Tweet of the day, which will choosing the best tweet of the day and quoting it on the show, the reason i decided this should be on the show is because the show is going to be based highly on the website twitter. I got this idea from the BBC radio 4 as they do the same thing but they use their own tweets instead of random ones.

  • Top Internet video
The top internet video idea is basically showing a video that everyone in the crew though was the funniest and/or most strange. The idea is based on 'Machinima' from YouTube as they do a different version of the idea but instead of 3 video we will just be using one as three videos will take up a bit to much time.
On the right is a short video which is Machinima's version of my idea which includes instead of 1, 3 videos.with this segment the host/s will know nothing about the video being chosen so their reactions to the video will

  • Guess that nose
Guess that nose will be a simply game based on the contestants trying to guess what nose belongs to who, this idea is based on Kiss FM UK's idea which they used to do on FaceBook. This game will uses the noses of any kind of iconic person/character, ranging from video game characters to statues. For example host/s would show a picture of a nose then the contestants would try to guess whose nose is who's. on the right i have an image of Barack Obama If the game was being played only the nose would be shown and and the contestants would guess and if they get it right an image of Barack Obama would be shown. The idea of this would be to see how much people know about celebrities and their noses.

  • Da charts

Da charts is an idea that most music/magazine TV shows have which will go over what the top of the charts of that certain time are. for example the host/s will go over what song was, for example if the to song was Chris brown-the motto, then a short clip from the song with the chorus will be played. The reason i have decided to incorporate this idea is because i thought that having a TV show about music would be complete without a  segment like this.

  • Box office

The box office will be a segment based on what movie is at the top of the box office that week, this idea will have certain small clips from the movies with a date from when it came out. I think that is idea would be useful as alot of teenagers would watch the show and like to hear what movies would be really useful for them so they can hear about what movies are the best and what movies aren't doing good.

Random News!

I will be creating a new segment which will be about the different news and gossip about celebrities, this will be more about gossip and rumors as most people are interested in rumour but will have some news about anything. The reason i have chosen to use this segment is that I wanted to have an actual news section for people who want to hear about the news as well as hearing about the rumors.

The Big Quiz
The big quiz will be a simple quiz with 3 questions in which the contestants have to get right the winner will get a simple cheap prize.

  56. Boxoffice
  57. Boxoffice
  58. Host/s thanks the viewers for watching
  59. Outro (Camera pans up)
  60. End of Outro

Studio design
I have chosen to have the style the set, the green screen at the back, the sofa for the host/s and the guest/s facing the table and the table in the middle for the two. The reason i chose this layout is because i feel as if it is most used, in a lot of shows magazine shows the stage is set in the same way.

Sketch of background
I have created a background which will be on the green screen, I have chosen this as the show is a music show, and it would be fitting to have a music note as the background.

Visual Style
i want the visual style to be cool while still being profession, so like instead of the host/s looking very smart and fancy like the picture on the left i want them to look relaxed and casual like the picture below.

Presentation Style
I want the presentation style to have a sense of seriousness with a hint of light hearted humor, by this i mean i want the show to be relaxed but at the same time to be very strict when a segment is going to overlap another one.

Multicamera Job Roles

In this post I will be going over each of ten jobs that I could possible be doing during the live day and I will explain each and every job, what they do and what duties and skills the job requires or needs to be acquired during training for it. Duties are tasks that have to be done which are like coming on time and rely more on working all day every day, and Skills are things that someone must learn or a part of their personality like naturally funny, smart not camera shy, et cetera.

Camera Operator
The camera operator has to read and understand the script as if they don't understand the script then they cant shoot the film with full knowledge of whats happening next, also with this talking to the director about all the aspects of the script would be helpful too. The also need to recce all the locations to check the safety, for the camera and equipment for the camera, this would be done with the lighting crew and the floor manager as they all work together a lot when filming, as they work on making the show more realistic. The camera operator also need to be able to review all the set plans as they need to know where everything is going, they also need to have a knowledge of camera heads they know what camera head to use with what shot and with that needs to be able to carry out tests before shooting to check that all the equipment is up to date and working well, Lastly when filming the camera man could be hard headed when filming, as when they are filming other members of the crew will tell them what shot to use (long shot, mid shot etc.) but they camera operator should know what shots to use. (http://www.bscine.com)

Sound mixing
Sound mixing is there to make sure the sound on a show is perfect so that it sound profession,
They need to ensure the sound quality is perfect before filming so that there is no loss of viewers because of sound issues. they need to use the best equipment money can be because if they spend a lot of money on the top equipment they can earn the most money through because of the better quality of videos the more viewers wanna watch it.

Vision Mixing
The vision mixing is to there to make sure the video balance, brightness etc is fine for playing a clip. They must be able to work on multiple different mixing desk and be able to know what does what, they need to have a good understanding what is going on where, they need to stay relaxed but yet be able to react to any situation and preform well under any pressure. They also need to have good levels of concentration and be able to respond to the cues from the director if anything goes wrong, they need to have the pride to take the work on anything that might cause problems later on while filming live, and lastly they need to be able to multitask.

Director

The director has to have many Duties and Skills, such as; Showing Up On early I think that this Skill is very useful for a Director to have as they need to be at the location which is going to be filmed before everyone else as without the director there would be no one to direct the film and force the cast and crew would lose a day of filming. Act within the power of the company, this is a duty is forced on the directors, every company will have their own rules. The director has to follow this rules and constraints contained in the company's rules. The director has to use the power assigned to the them by shareholders for the good of the company.(accaglobal) The general duties, A duty of the director is to act in to benefits to company and not for the benefit of any other clienteles. The companies would come first, Understanding this makes it tranquil to decide how to behave when there’s several different involved clients with inconsistent ideas. This even relates to companies run by one individual, which means this that one stockholder or director could not put ideas above the companies.(accaglobal) A film director visualizes the script, controlling a film's artistic and dramatic aspects, while guiding the technical crew and actors in the fulfillment of their vision. A movie director is incharge of all creative seans Much of what you see in school and on television is actually filmed. So there are many opportunities for a film director. Commercials, television programs, independent films, industrial films, educational and government films, and documentaries just to name a few. The Director has many duties, some of which are simply to visualize the script which would be them thinking about how the script will look, allowing them to work with the floor manger to create a set that looks believable. The director also has think strategically, they cant just choose anything and say it works, they have to create several different versions of the same shot and make sure it looks right.(wiki.answers)

Set designer
The set designer has the present designs for to check for improvement as directed as they have to work on the set with the floor manger, the camera and lighting crew and the director and the presenter. They also have to choose what furniture looks like a real set so that the set looks aesthetically pleasing to the viewers. They have to console the leaders of the show/film about costs, organize times to film or work on the set and discuss other plans of the set. They need to ask other staff to help create other designs e.g. sketches drawings, animation etc of their idea of the set to help create other ideas that would look really good, and implement them to the actual set. The Set designer also has to make sure that all the props and scenery is not messed with or moved to block the view of the camera so that the camera can film all of it, and they must go over the script to determine location, the set and the requirement to decorate, and they have to estimate all of the cost for this.

Lighting Desk
The lighting desk's jobs and roles are to be skilled in the area of lighting desk as if they do not know much about the machine they cant work with it. They also need to set up, fit and use the lighting equipment, and if need be take everything down, they need to also work on making sure that all the lights work correctly.
They also need to make sure that the lights are safely rigged up and they need to be able to fix any thing wrong with the lights.

Floor Manger
The floor manger has to check that all the equipment are working correctly before the show, as if it doesn't work, the show will not be able to work properly. They need to refer to the floor plan a lot as they need to know where every goes,They need to be giving cues to the actors, and they over see everything the work of the other sectors of the crew as they can help others work, keeping the crew on time and keeping the director informed of off-camera action, managing safety requirements, timings and what happens during this and what will be aired when. Lastly cooperating with staff to agree with who will be interviewed and lastly passing the information reports from the events to the presenters.

Graphics generation

Graphic generations will create all the graphics for the event, they will need to work on it every day, as it needs to be to the best of the ability, they need to be able to work on it everyday and they need to spend as much time as possible on it. they need to have amazing art design and they need to work with the group, they must be able to choose the best matter and style and work to allowance and time limit and use the best computer software to do it, and be able to show sketches to the everyone else and lastly be able to create the final layout with perfect specification.

VT Operator
A VT operator has the job of cutting to a clip or video, him/her paired with the vision and video mixer  working together to make the video look amazing, this job needs absolute focus with this job as focus allows them to concentrate when they are needed, they need to have a knowledge of what video clip is so they can play it at the right moment and they also need to know whats going on in the TV show so they can be prepared for play clips, They also must have a amazing sense on hearing so they can focus on when something needs to be done, they also need to have an impeccable sense of time as they need to be sure they are cutting at the right time.
Presenter
The presenter is the host of the show, they are filmed all the time and is there to go through everything they need to, known as the face of the show, the presenter has to learn their lines other wise they could make or break the show meaning they could get the line perfectly right or they could say the wrong line and allow the show to lose viewers, the presenter, depending on what the show is may need to humorous or need to be able to speak with a clear voice, able to speak with pausing or missing lines of dialogue, they need to be able to think quickly and be learn about what they are going to talk about, this allows them to add any extra fact, or even their opinions in the show within reason,
I think that the director is at the top of the pyramid of power followed by the presenter, camera operator, set designer then the floor manager and the lighting desk together ,next the vision & video mixing and the graphic generation  and lastly the VT operator.

Multi-camera videos are videos of events in which there is more than one camera for many different videos, this is create a realist feel to the video for the viewers. The benefits of using multi-camera is that it allows the directer to have more than one angle for the shots, to get the natural reactions of the actors/actress/players as they are doing the scene with cuts allowing for a enhanced reaction , it also takes less time to shot scenes as the camera doesn't need to be moved. The lighting and sound  is better and easier as no one has to move the equipment to the next location. but the disadvantages are that that tit takes much longer to set up the cameras as there is quite alot of cameras to set up. Another disadvantages are that having move cameras with be unquestionably more expensive as not only this but the film crew has to pay for more camera-men to actual film the event, having a lot of cameras also means that there would less places to put them as there would camera in places that other cameras would be also shooting and lastly the filming using multi-camera may leave the directer to use as set instead of real locations, which can cause problem when different crew members or equipment are be seen in in mirrors/windows.

Sporting events
In the sport, tennis, there needs to be multi-camera as there needs to be a long shot to show both players and the tennis court, a camera to show close ups and mid shots of the each player to show their emotions while after either messing up or winning. there is also one to smaller long shot showing their whole body to show the body language of the player.

This clip is from when Andy Murray won an Olympic gold medal while playing Roger Federer in the Olympics back in 2012, in the clip the camera is constantly like at 00:01 to 00:04 it is an establishing shot, this is to the location of the event and to show what the event is, then at 02:25 to 02:44 there was a shot with both players and the chair umpire just before they start and at 05:44 to 06:14 the camera switches between the camera filming a long shot of Andy Murray practicing and a long shot of members of the audience in the stands watching the event, talking and filming the event. This is done constantly to show the audience's reactions to the game, this also can be seen at 00:55:09 just before the second serve, the camera switches to a close up to show Andy's reaction at then back to a long shot of his whole body as he gets ready to continue playing.

Long shot
After starting the match at 09:48 the camera reverts to a long shot to film both players and the chair umpire again so that the viewers at home can watch where tennis ball is.(shot shown on the right hand side.

Concerts
At Glastonbury in 2011, Beyonce preformed a concert, the camera not only films her but it films the audience and the back up singers/dancing and the whole stage in a long shot, the reason for this is to show the viewers the body actions for Beyonce, and the back up dancers/singers and the long shots as an establishing shot at 1:45 to 1:50. The lastly at 10:00 the camera switches between beyonce and the audience to show the audience's involvement,
constraints are that with the limited cameras, everything can't be filmed at once like at 3:40 the camera cuts to fireworks but at the same time Beyonce is singing as well, and since its pretty dark some shots don't come out well like at 7:07 to 7:11, which is a dark long shot that looks like silhouettes of hands, at this concert at one point beyonce talks to the audience 6:00 as if they were friends as she thanks the audience for coming, and later says are you ready to have a good time, the visual style is well the camera cuts are fluid and seem to cut almost every few minutes, and then at 9:40 she uses the 1st person mode of address as she says 'if y'all having a good time say yer.' The viewer's interest is kept by the camera constantly moving and switching between shots and different brightnesses.

Public events
For public events I will be using the queens diamond jubilee's concert which happened back in 2012. The event  had many different shot types, some include a mid shot which can be seen at the beginning (00:00 to 01:27), this is 1st to show who the speaker is and also to show his emotions and also to show the audience in the background, most of them being very patriot with the British flags and British styled glasses and such another reason for having this shot is to make the audience seem larger as they are cramped into a small space at that point, after that the camera does a lot of long shots(like at :), mid shots(at 01:28) and pan outs 1:43 to 1:54), pan to the left and right,(at 13:34 for 2 seconds to the right and 13:47 to 13:53 to the right as well from the back) and again like last time they use shots of the audience watching, cheering and filming the event. The camera crew uses shots like pans to show just how big the event is showing off just how many people are there and mid shots to show the artist's and dancer's actions (Image on the left hand side) and lastly close ups to show the singer's facial expressions.(image on the right hand side)

Midshot

Magazine shows
The show 'Dateline', a hidden camera crime based magazine show uses quite a bit of different shots, firstly there's 2 shots at 1:33, long shots at 1:50, mid shots at 3:02, close ups at 3:38 and high angle at 3:28 long shots, The 2 shots were to show both people in the shot and their body language, long shots to show a single person's body language, mid shots to show the person's hands and what their doing, close ups to show the facial expressions and the high angle long shot is to recreate a CCTV camera hanging in the corner. The Camera switches between shots to make the video seem interesting and there is 1st person mod of address, there is no communication to the viewers, the camera covers everything well but when the camera is at the high angle CCTV styled shot the facial expressions are hard to see.

Game shows
I have chosen to do a game show called 'King of the nerds,' which was about 11 different people from different and diverse backgrounds competing in different events and last person left wins $100,000 USD (about £59513.20 in GBP) and the title 'King of the nerds,' Since this show is a games show that has a similar idea to big brother the show uses a lot of close ups, mid shots, long shots and 2 shots. The show uses the closeups to showcase the facial expressions for the actors, mid shots to show the body language and 2 shots to add more than one person into the shot. These shots are used frequently like at 8:56 as a mid shot, 4:31 as a close up and 3:59 as a 2 shot. Again the camera switches shots every few seconds to keep the viewer's interest, the camera needs to cover any kind of action that happens during the show which would be filming all the characters equally and allowing different characters to show their true selves. The camera also needs to film anything that happens randomly, that no one had any idea about.

Chat shows
For chat shows i will be using the Oprah Winfrey show and i think there is about 3 camera's being used, a camera for close ups, a camera for pans and long shots and a camera that is for panning be hide Oprah and her guests and seems like its used for audience shots as well, these can be seen at 00:00( close up), 20:36 and 14:06 for a pan/long shots and 08:50 for be hide pan. The genre has to use multi-camera to show off the host and one for anything happening that the 1st camera can't film.
The genre adds the audience in by having the cameras a little off from Oprah Winfrey to create a the idea that the viewers are in the audience watching. The consent switching allows the audience to stay engaged in whats going on.

Talent show
American's got talent, a US remake of the British version, the show also has lots of different shots mainly using mid shots at 3:48, close ups like at 1:25, long shots at 3:58 and 2 shots at 8:45. The mid shots are to show each person's hands are doing, close ups to show facial expressions, long shots to show the person's body expressions and 2 shot to show 2 characters. The shots allow the viewers to see everything they need to see, allowing them to not get distracted by other things that are not needed in the shot. The show The show uses these shots as they are the most used shots, the camera covers everything as theres more than one, since the show has flashing lights and such the viewer's interest is kept. The show seems live but is as live.
